Africanbodybuildersavenue: What’s your full name?

KULBILA: My name is Kulbila Agyarko Samuel.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: Do you have a nickname? If so, why?

KULBILA: My nickname is “titanium” .  I didn’t have one, until I  listened to a song called titanium by “David Guetta” which became one of my favorite tracks. A line in the song states, and I quote: “you shoot me down but I won’t fall I am titanium”, at first i didn’t know the meaning of the word “titanium” so I Google and find out that it is a strong, corrosion-resistant transition metal so I adopted it as my nickname because of it’s strength and it’s resistance to hash weather conditions.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: Do you offer personal training service? If so, where?

KULBILA: I haven’t offered any personal training yet but it’s something I wish to do in the near future.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: How did you get started with exercise? How long have you been training? What was the motivation to start and what keeps you motivated?

KULBILA: I got into fitness with the help of a good friend of mine called “Reginald Okyere Mintah” .  God bless him.  He started training at a local gym and he asked me to join him.  I wasn’t interested at first but he kept on pressuring me to join him.  I ask him why and he said looking at my body frame I will be very good at the sports, so on the 15 of September 2011 @ 6:30 am we all went to the gymnasium.  The first exercises I did as a beginner was for arms and shoulders. The next day I couldn’t breathe properly or scratch my back.  I was in pain so I decided not to visit the gym again but he encouraged me not to back down for the pain is just temporary.  I kept it Killing at the gym and in a few months of hard work at the gymnasium,  people started starring at me when I wore a tank top lol.  So from  there,  I saw that the iron is faithful and it never lies so I kept on lifting and now am 3 years into bodybuilding.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: What is your purpose in life and what motivates you to fulfill your purpose?

aaaaaaaaaaaaapg

Africanbodybuildersavenue: What is your religious belief?

KULBILA: I am a Christian by religion and believe in Jesus Christ the son of the living God.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: What do you do for fun other than lift things up and put them down?

KULBILA: What I do for fun is watching action and adventurous movies. I also do more research about bodybuilding  on the Internet, to get more information  about the sports to improve.  I do this on Saturday and Sundays which are my rest days.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: What does aesthetic mean to you?

KULBILA: Aesthetics is something which is very important to me when it comes to bodybuilding.  Bodybuilding is an art of beauty and symmetry and I always make sure that I train every part of my body throughout the week and perform equal reps to each body part example  (arms) and other body parts to keep it balance .

Africanbodybuildersavenue:  How does exercise and nutrition influence your daily life?

KULBILA: Exercise and nutrition has really influenced my life a lot, because I use to eat certain foods which I thought were good because of the taste and it’s cravings.  Foods like “kelewele” (kelewele is ripped naturally spiced plantain which is deeply fried in oil)  and plantain chips and highly salted and fatty foods.  Staying away from these foods has kept me lean and ripped.  I don’t really balance my diets all the time but keeping it healthy has changed my condition and has always kept me on track.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: What would you say to people that look up to you who struggle with obstacles?

KULBILA: What I will say to anybody who is facing an obstacle that makes him or her finding it difficult to achieve the fitness goals is  to keep pushing because if “there’s is a will there’s always a way”.

Africanbodybuildersavenue:  Do you listen to music while you exercise? If so what’s on your playlist?

KULBILA: I love listening to music while working out because it keeps me going and puts me in the beast mode, Afro pop and hip hop is my type of music.

Africanbodybuildersavenue: What’s your workout like? Do you train all week? Please include a few details – training split, sets/reps, exercises, types of cardio, days off etc.

KULBILA: My approach to training is a bit different because i don’t normally make a chart for my training like how most people do  in working on a muscle group in each day but  I make sure that I train all my body parts during the week.  I also at times switch to training twice daily (morning and evening) just to confuse the body to growth.  I do 5 sets in all my workout with reps of 15 12, 10, 8, 6 I do this by adding up weights in every reps.

KULBILA: My diet is simple.  I just eat our local dishes like banku, kooko, fufu, yam and rice and stew, gari and ripped boiled plantain with beans  but I try my best to keep it balance by getting my protein, greens, fat and carbs.  My source of carbs are oats, cassava, yam, rice, cocoyam , sweet potatoes , maize, plantain and millet. My Main source of proteins are beans, peanuts, fish, and eggs.  My source of greens are nkontomire (cocoyam leafs), moringa, dandelion, green beans and cabbage.  Fats are palm oil and olive oil.
